After taking the brake system down after the dual master cylinder upgrade, and subsequently finding a bad wheel cylinder, it appears that my efforts were not in vain. It appears that 3 of the 4 self adjuster mechs were frozen and not working correctly. It would also explain an intermittent right front brake lockup. So with a small dose of money, some new hardware and sweat equity we now have some good adjusting brakes. A full system flush with new fluid should put us in much better shape for this cruise season.
